About John S. Freud

Mr. Freud is a full-time mediator. He has handled over 5,000 mediations during his 41 years as a Trial Lawyer and Mediator in a wide variety of substantive practice areas.

Specializing in pre- and post suit, multi-party, high value, layered and complex disputes, John brings a unique style and structure to each and every mediation environment. His focus is not merely on the facts of a particular conflict, but more importantly it includes a persistent effort to determine the underlying drivers of decision-making of each participant, party and lawyer alike, in the mediation process.

Whether it’s a construction defect dispute or mass tort, personal injury or wrongful death matter (e.g., FIU Bridge & Miami-Dade College Garage collapses; San Matera Homeowners Association, or Brickell House actions; PULSE Nightclub shooting matters) or any number and variety of complex matters, such as real property, business, banking, professional malpractice, product liability, class action, commercial and environmental disputes; patent, copyright, trademark and intellectual property matters; all facets of insurance, suretyship, wind-related matters, including first- and third-party claims, and bad faith; or ADA, employment discrimination, police, public official, governmental, administrative and Federal Agency conflicts, John’s disciplined and purposefully structured approach to the mediation process provides a fully engaged environment for all mediation participants to be able to navigate their way to voluntary resolution.

Presently Mr. Freud provides mediation services nationwide to claimants and respondents through Mediation Solutions, Inc.

Fee Schedule

RETENTION OF SERVICES AS A MEDIATOR

Mediation fees are split equally between Parties/Counsel and are case specific. A Mediation Memorandum with case specific fee information is provided in advance of each joint mediation session, absent circumstances of inapplicability (i.e., continuing mediation session(s) during period(s) of adjournment).

CANCELLATION POLICY

We endeavor to accommodate the schedules of all parties/counsel on all matters for which we are retained to provide mediation services. While we understand that circumstances sometimes require cancellation of a mediation session within 72 hours of their scheduled date, we nonetheless require those Parties/Counsel responsible for the cancellation to remit a cancellation fee of one-half of the pre-payment fee for the entire mediation session, absent alternative arrangements agreed to by the parties, counsel and the mediator.

TESTIMONIALS

John is one of the few individuals our firm trusts to mediate the complex, multi-party litigation matters we specialize in. Preparation, understanding of the facts and law, patience, and tirelessness are just a few of John’s qualities that allow him to connect with the decision makers in a dispute to bring about an agreement. ~ RS

John Freud has earned his reputation as the “go to” mediator for large loss construction defect cases because he is uniquely consistent, fair, and honest in his approach. This approach, combined with his decades of experience and expertise, efficiently and effectively resolves cases, even when cases at times appear unresolvable. ~ ES

Unmatched professionalism and wisdom, particularly in the areas of insurance coverage and defective construction claims. ~ AA

I regularly insist that my clients use John to mediate our complex disputes. He is effective. ~ JB

Conflict is neither good nor bad. Properly managed, it is absolutely vital.
